I am seeking re-election to the Alachua County School Board, District 2, and I need your support.
The challenges facing education today are daunting. As the Legislature slashes funding for education, our needs do not diminish. Many issues clamor for our attention: more at risk students, an unacceptably low graduation rate, skyrocketing energy costs, inadequate and outdated facilities, and eroding employee salaries.
You deserve a committed, involved advocate asking questions and standing up for you. You deserve to be communicated with honestly. I am and will continue to be that advocate, with your help.
I will continue to work for quality education for ALL students, a rigorous and relevant curriculum; collaboration with UF and city and county government; fair and unbiased policies for all students,
parents and employees; respect for our natural resources; and prudent expenditures of taxpayer dollars.
I am the candidate who will ask questions and work to keep you informed, as I have the last four years despite opposition. I believe in transparency and openness. Without public airing of the issues, change is unlikely to occur. Keep me working for you! Together we can build on our schools’ successes and tear down obstacles that impede progress.
